Home Minister Amit Shah Addresses All India Speakers’ Conference on Centenary of Vitthalbhai Patel’s Historic Role
New Delhi, August 24:
Union Home Minister Amit Shah today highlighted a historic milestone, recalling that exactly 100 years ago, on August 24, 1925, the Central Legislative Assembly received its first Indian Speaker in the form of Vitthalbhai Patel.

Speaking at the ‘All India Speakers’ Conference’ organized by the Delhi Assembly to mark this centenary, Shah engaged in dialogue with Assembly Speakers from across the country.

He noted that the Assembly had witnessed the voices of many great leaders, including Lala Lajpat Rai and Madan Mohan Malaviya, whose speeches and contributions left behind unforgettable moments in India’s parliamentary history.

Shah underlined that this centenary celebration is not just a remembrance of the past but also a reminder of the responsibilities that lie ahead for democratic institutions.
