"MLA Gulmarg Reviews Winter Tourism Preparedness, Inspects Infrastructure Projects"

Honourable MLA Gulmarg Farooq Ahmad Shah convened a review meeting with officials from various departments to review preparedness for the upcoming winter tourism season at the iconic resort. During meeting SDM Gulmarg provided an overview of the sub divisional administration's arrangements, including snow clearance, road connectivity, drinking water supply, slope homologation, signage, snow safety, ski patrols, rescue teams, and medical facilities.

Shah stressed the importance of seamless arrangements, instructing officers to conduct an audit of basic amenities and rectify gaps, ensure adequate water supply and cleanliness, strengthen instructions for hotel management, inspect hotels for storage and services, avoid water supply disruptions during winter.

While reviewing the winter preparedness of all departments including JKTDC, Gulmarg Development Authority and Cable Car Corporation, PDD, R&B, Jal Shakti and other concerned departments, MLA stressed upon the officers to make sure adequate arrangements are in place during the event for convenience of tourists.

Shah also inspected the under-construction 30-bed hospital, urging authorities to release pending funds to meet the March 2025 completion target.
