Public Notice on Revision of Panchayat Electoral Roll in Udhampur, Jammu & Kashmir
The District Panchayat Election Officer, Udhampur, under the authority of the State Election Commission of Jammu & Kashmir, has issued a public notice detailing the revision schedule for the Panchayat Electoral Roll, with the qualifying date set as January 1, 2025. This annual revision is mandated under the J&K Panchayati Raj Act, 1989, and J&K Panchayati Raj Rules, 1996.

Key Dates for the Revision Process:

1. Draft Publication: The Draft Panchayat Electoral Roll (Form PER-1) will be published on November 11, 2024.


2. Claims and Objections: Citizens may file claims, corrections, or objections from November 11 to December 9, 2024.


3. Special Camps: Special camps will be held at polling booth locations on multiple weekends: November 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, December 1, 2024, to assist voters with forms and the Draft Electoral Roll.


4. Claims Disposal: The Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) will resolve claims and objections by December 23, 2024.


5. Final Roll Publication: The Final Panchayat Electoral Roll for 2024 will be published on January 6, 2025.



Application Process:

Eligible individuals (aged 18 or above by January 1, 2025) can apply for:

Inclusion in the electoral roll using Form PER-2A.

Deletion of Names using Form PER-2B.

Corrections using Form PER-2C.

Transposition of entries with Form PER-2D.


Applicants need to submit their forms along with two colored photographs, address proof, and residence proof to the Panchayat Election Booth Officials (PEBOs) at polling stations.

Stakeholders and Dissemination:

The notice has been circulated to various officials, including the State Election Commissioner, Divisional Commissioner, Rural Development Department, and District Information Officer. Additionally, the information will be available at district headquarters, the offices of EROs, and polling locations, and will be published across print and electronic media to ensure maximum voter participation in the electoral revision process.
