Udhampur, October 31, 2024 – In a heartfelt tribute to the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the "Iron Man of India," the Udhampur district administration organized a grand celebration of National Unity Day at the Mini Stadium in Udhampur. The event, marking the 149th birth anniversary of Patel, underscored the importance of unity and integrity in the country. The Deputy Commissioner of Udhampur, Saloni Rai, led the occasion by administering the "Rashtriya Ekta Diwas" (National Unity Day) pledge, which was taken by officials from various departments, prominent citizens, and students.
The event began with a floral tribute to Sardar Patel, honoring his pivotal role in unifying India post-independence. Following this, DC Rai addressed the gathering, emphasizing Patel’s vision and dedication, which laid the foundation for a united nation. She encouraged attendees to uphold Patel's ideals by working for the country's integrity and fostering social harmony.
