Poonch : The Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal, successfully organized a health check-up cum awareness camp for drivers and conductors at Bus Stand Poonch. This initiative aimed to enhance the health and well-being of these essential road safety stakeholders.
The Deputy Commissioner unrelined the importance of District Road Safety Committee to study and analyze the statistics relating to road accidents and to review the action of the stakeholder departments for road re-engineering and other possible improvements.
A dedicated team of doctors from the District Hospital provided free health check-ups and eye examinations, underscoring the importance of health in maintaining road safety.
The Deputy Commissioner highlighted the need for strict adherence to traffic rules, stressing the dangers of speeding, mobile phone use while driving, avoiding alcohol, improper overtaking, and illegal parking.
The event featured an engaging interactive session, allowing drivers, conductors, and civil and police administration officers to discuss critical road safety and health-related issues.
The ARTO Poonch, Taramani expressed gratitude to the Health Department, Municipal Council , Police, and Traffic Police for their collaborative efforts in promoting road safety and public health.
