Poonch, December 29: Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Poonch, Vikas Kundal, paid an unannounced visit to the District Hospital (DH) Poonch to review its functioning and ensure that healthcare services are being delivered efficiently to the public. The surprise inspection aimed to assess the hospital's infrastructure, cleanliness, staff performance, and the overall quality of services provided to patients.
During the visit, DC Kundal interacted with patients and their attendants to gain firsthand feedback on the quality of medical care. He also inspected various hospital wards, the emergency department, laboratories, and the pharmacy.
Expressing concern over certain gaps in service delivery, DC Kundal directed the Medical Superintendent (MS) of the hospital to take immediate steps to address the issues. He emphasized the importance of maintaining hygiene and ensuring the availability of essential medicines, equipment, and staff at all times.
“Providing timely and quality healthcare to the people is our top priority. Every effort must be made to improve the functioning of the hospital and ensure patient satisfaction,” stated DC Kundal during his inspection.
He further instructed the hospital administration to maintain a 24/7 emergency response system and monitor staff attendance to prevent any disruptions in services. The DC also urged the medical staff to work with dedication and professionalism to uphold the trust of the public.
The Deputy Commissioner assured full support from the district administration in improving the hospital’s facilities. He also directed regular monitoring and surprise inspections to ensure compliance with the necessary standards.
