Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Oath-Taking Ceremony Scheduled for October 21, 2024
Srinagar, October 18, 2024 – In accordance with the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019, the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor has appointed Mr. Mubarik Gul, Hon'ble Member of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, as the Speaker Protem. The oath or affirmation of all the Members of the J&K Legislative Assembly will be administered by him on October 21, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Legislative Assembly at Srinagar.
The Speaker Protem will officiate the ceremony where members will subscribe to the oath as per Section 24 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act. The Secretariat has requested all members to attend and ensure timely participation in the proceedings.
Furthermore, all the Hon'ble Members are required to bring a photocopy of their certificate issued by the Returning Officer for record purposes. The administration solicits their cooperation in this regard.
