Chenab Valley Residents, Especially in Kishtwar, Should Receive Free Power: Vikar Rasool Wani

People of the Chenab Valley, Especially Kishtwar District, Should Get Free Power: Vikar Rasool Wani

Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee President Vikar Rasool Wani has demanded that the government provide free electricity to the people of the Chenab Valley, especially those in the Kishtwar district. He also emphasized that local people should be employed in power projects.

Wani stressed that the people of the Chenab Valley should receive free electricity to meet their needs since the region houses several hydroelectric projects. He said, "This area significantly contributes to electricity generation, yet the local people still face power shortages. This is not fair."

He asserted that the government should employ local youth in hydroelectric projects to address the issue of unemployment in the region. Wani stated, "Engaging local youth in hydroelectric projects is essential. This will not only increase employment opportunities but also contribute to the success of the projects, as local people will be more responsible for protecting their land and resources."

Wani also mentioned that the government should take the issues of the people of Kishtwar district seriously and address them on a priority basis. He said, "The Kishtwar district is rich in natural resources, but its people are still deprived of basic facilities. It is the government's responsibility to resolve these issues and provide a better standard of living to the local people."

Vikar Rasool Wani warned that if the government does not meet these demands, the Congress party will take to the streets and continue to struggle until justice is served to the local people.
