Udhampur, February 26: Sh Minga Sherpa, IAS, on Wednesday assumed charge as the Deputy Commissioner of Udhampur. He formally took over the responsibilities from Ms Saloni Rai, IAS, in the presence of senior district officials.
The joining ceremony was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dr. Umesh Shan, Chief Planning Officer Uttam Singh, along with other district and sectoral officers.
After assuming charge, the new Deputy Commissioner held an introductory meeting with officers of the District Administration. During the interaction, he emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts among departments, transparency in governance, and ensuring prompt delivery of public services to the citizens.
Sh Minga Sherpa stressed that teamwork and accountability would be key to accelerating the overall development of the district. He reiterated his commitment to strengthening administrative efficiency and addressing public grievances effectively.
Meanwhile, the outgoing Deputy Commissioner, Ms Saloni Rai, extended her best wishes to her successor and expressed confidence that Udhampur district would continue to witness steady progress under his leadership.
The administration reaffirmed its dedication to public welfare and developmental initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, governance, and service delivery across the district.
