Afghan Teen Survives by Hiding in Plane’s Landing Gear, Lands in Delhi
New Delhi, Sept 22:
In a bizarre incident, a 13-year-old Afghan boy from Kunduz managed to travel from Kabul to Delhi by hiding inside the landing gear compartment of a Kam Air flight (RQ-4401). The aircraft landed at IGI Airport around 11 am, where the boy was discovered near the runway by airline staff and handed over to the CISF.

Security agencies immediately carried out an anti-sabotage inspection of the aircraft, which was later declared safe. The boy was carrying a small red-colored speaker at the time of his detention. During questioning, he revealed that he had attempted the dangerous act out of curiosity.

After preliminary checks and questioning, the boy was repatriated to Afghanistan the same day. The incident has raised serious concerns over airline security as survival in the wheel-well during high-altitude flights is considered extremely rare.
