Budgam, March 2, 2025: In an ongoing drive against drug trafficking, Budgam Police arrested a drug peddler in the Magam area and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
A police team led by HC Ghulam Mohi-ud-din from Police Station Magam, while conducting a Naka checking at Aripanthan, intercepted a suspicious individual. The suspect attempted to flee but was swiftly apprehended. Upon searching him, police recovered three sticks of a charas-like substance, wrapped in corn husk, weighing approximately 61 grams.
The accused was identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Ganie, son of Ghulam Mohammad Ganie, a resident of Saranhal Batpora, Budgam. He was arrested on the spot, and legal proceedings were initiated. A case has been registered under FIR No. 33/2025 U/S 8/20 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Magam, and further investigation is underway.
