Mumbai, March 2026:
The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has issued strict new guidelines for the 2026 examinations to curb cheating and the use of unfair means. The move aims to ensure transparency and fairness in the examination process.
According to the new rules, misuse of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other digital tools for cheating will invite severe penalties, including lifetime blacklisting from exams and possible legal action, including imprisonment.
The CET Cell has specifically banned the use of AI tools, hidden cameras, screen mirroring, remote access software, and other advanced digital technologies during the examination. Authorities have emphasized that any candidate found using such methods will face strict consequences.
Officials stated that the increasing use of cyber cheating techniques has become a major concern, prompting the introduction of these tighter regulations. Special monitoring systems and surveillance measures will also be implemented to detect any suspicious activity.
The CET Cell has urged candidates to strictly follow the rules and maintain the integrity of the examination process. The new guidelines reflect the government’s commitment to ensuring fair and transparent examinations across the state.
