BSF Recovers Over 5.3 Kg of Suspected Heroin in R.S. Pura, Jammu

Jammu, October 27, 2025 — In a major success against cross-border smuggling, the Border Security Force (BSF) recovered two packets of suspected heroin weighing approximately 5.3 kilograms from the depth area of R.S. Pura, Jammu, during a special operation conducted on Monday morning.

Acting on precise intelligence inputs, BSF troops foiled yet another attempt by Pakistan-based smugglers to push narcotics into Indian territory. The operation was launched on October 26, following specific information received from BSF intelligence. A special ambush and depth naka were laid in the R.S. Pura sector, leading to the recovery the next morning.

During the search operation near Village Bidipur, R.S. Pura, BSF personnel found two yellow packets containing 10 smaller packets, suspected to contain heroin. The consignment, weighing about 5.300 kilograms, was found concealed in farmland and is believed to have been drone-dropped from across the border.

Police authorities have been informed for further investigation and necessary legal action.

The BSF reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the nation’s borders and preventing any attempts of smuggling or infiltration.
