Jammu, September 23, 2025:
Police Post Manwal foiled a bovine smuggling attempt and rescued 13 animals, including 12 cows and one calf, from a truck (JK19A-6756).
The vehicle, coming from Battal towards Kashmir, was signaled to stop at a naka point but the driver fled. Police chased and intercepted the truck near Kishanpur, where the driver abandoned the vehicle and escaped.
Upon checking, the truck was found loaded with bovines tied cruelly and transported without food or water.
A case under FIR No. 116/2025 U/S 223 BNS and 11 PCA has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli. Investigation has been initiated to trace the accused.
