Drug Peddler Arrested, 09 Grams of Heroin Recovered by Gandhi Nagar Police in Jammu
Jammu, August 17, 2025:
In a continued crackdown against the menace of drug trafficking and substance abuse, Police Station Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, achieved another significant success by arresting a drug peddler and recovering a quantity of heroin (Chitta) from his possession.

According to police officials, on August 16, 2025, a police team from Police Station Gandhi Nagar, led by PSI Nadeem Akram and assisted by other police personnel, was on routine patrolling duty in the area near Valmiki Colony, Jammu. Acting promptly and vigilantly, the team intercepted and apprehended a suspect.

The accused has been identified as:

Rohan Chidhe, son of Raj Kumar, resident of Valmiki Colony, Jammu.


Upon searching him, police recovered around 09 grams of heroin (Chitta-like substance) from his possession.

Following the recovery, a case has been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar under FIR No. 182/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act dated 16.08.2025. The accused has been arrested, the contraband seized, and further investigation is underway to trace the source of the narcotics and possible links with other drug suppliers or networks.

The entire operation was carried out under the close supervision of Inspector Jai Paul Sharma, SHO Police Station Gandhi Nagar, monitored by SDPO South, and under the overall command of SP South, Jammu.

Police have reiterated their firm commitment to eliminating drug abuse and trafficking from society. They also appealed to the general public to extend cooperation by sharing timely information about drug-related activities in their respective areas so that strict action can be taken against those involved in such illegal practices.
