Kathua Police Solve Motorcycle Theft Case, Arrest Accused and Seize 12 More Stolen Vehicles
Kathua, March 15: In a major breakthrough against vehicle thefts in the district, the Kathua Police have successfully solved a motorcycle theft case, arresting one accused and recovering a total of 13 motorcycles, including the stolen one.

Acting under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, Sh. Shobhit Saksena (IPS), a police team from PP Hatli, led by PSI Subham Mahajan and guided by DySP Hqrs Kathua, Sh. Ravinder Singh, along with SHO PS Kathua, Insp. Sandeep Chib, cracked the case following a meticulous investigation.

The case was registered on March 12, 2025, at PS Kathua (FIR No. 125/2025, U/S 303(2) BNS) regarding the theft of a motorcycle (Reg. No. JK08D-4683). The investigation led to the arrest of the accused, identified as Imran Bhat, son of Sher Mohd Bhat, resident of Udhampur, currently residing near CTM Kathua.

Upon interrogation, the accused revealed the location of the stolen motorcycle. Further investigations led to the recovery of 12 more motorcycles without registration numbers, suspected to be stolen. All recovered motorcycles have been seized under Section 106 BNSS.

The Kathua Police have been taking stringent actions against vehicle thefts and other criminal activities in the district. Authorities have urged the public to report any suspicious activities by dialing 100 or 9858034100. The identity of informants will be kept confidential.

This operation marks a significant step in curbing vehicle theft and ensuring public safety in Kathua.
