Poonch, January 5: In a significant step towards ensuring better connectivity and monitoring developmental progress, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Poonch, Vikas Kundal, conducted a comprehensive tour today, covering the stretch from Bhimber Gali to Poonch. The purpose of the tour was to inspect the ongoing construction and upgradation work on the National Highway NH144-A, which connects Jammu to Poonch.
Accompanied by senior officials from various departments, the DC assessed the pace and quality of work being undertaken to improve the crucial highway. The NH144-A is a lifeline for the region, facilitating connectivity, trade, and the movement of essential supplies.
During the inspection, DC Kundal emphasized the importance of adhering to deadlines and maintaining high construction standards. He interacted with engineers, workers, and contractors on-site to understand the challenges they face and directed them to resolve any bottlenecks promptly.
