12 Bottles of Illicit Liquor Seized, Bootlegger Arrested by Udhampur Police
In a significant operation, the district police of Udhampur successfully seized 12 bottles of illicit liquor and apprehended a bootlegger during routine patrolling. The operation was carried out by the Police Post Sudhmahadev team, led by In-Charge Police Post (ICPP), along the Gourikund-Sudhmahadev road.

The accused, identified as Dev Raj, son of Prem Nath, a resident of Bachhal, Chenani, raised suspicion when he attempted to flee upon noticing the patrolling police team. Acting swiftly, the police intercepted and detained him.

During a thorough frisking and checking process, 12 bottles of JK Special Whisky, each measuring 750 ml, were recovered from his possession. The individual was immediately taken into custody on the spot.

A formal case under the relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Chenani. Further investigation is underway to uncover any potential connections or supply chains related to the illegal liquor trade.

The police have reaffirmed their commitment to eradicating illegal activities in the district and maintaining law and order. They have urged the public to report any suspicious activities to the authorities to help curb such unlawful practices.
