LG Manoj Sinha Felicitates SSF Personnel for Successful Conduct of 100-Day Drug-Free Jammu Kashmir Campaign
Srinagar, October 28: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday felicitated senior officers and personnel of the Special Security Force (SSF) for their outstanding professionalism, dedication and contribution to the successful conduct of the 100-day Drug-Free Jammu Kashmir Campaign.
Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor commended the SSF for demonstrating courage, vigilance and exceptional competence, stating that the Force had added a remarkable chapter to the administrative and security history of the Union Territory. He described the SSF as a symbol of discipline, excellence and commitment.
The Lieutenant Governor highlighted the significance of the campaign, which was launched on April 11, 2026, to mobilise society against drug abuse and strengthen public participation in the fight against the drug menace.

A major highlight of the campaign was an extensive Padyatra led by the Lieutenant Governor across all 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir. The initiative aimed to promote awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encourage direct engagement between the administration and citizens.

Praising the SSF's contribution, Sinha said the Force ensured meticulous security planning, seamless coordination and effective crowd management throughout the campaign, despite challenging geographical and operational conditions.

“From urban centres to remote rural areas and mountainous regions, the SSF maintained the highest standards of security while facilitating meaningful public interaction,” he said.

The Lieutenant Governor extended his best wishes to all SSF personnel and their families, expressing confidence that they would continue to serve the nation with courage, honour and commitment.

Those present on the occasion included Govind Jaiswal, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor; Swarn Singh Kotwal, DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range and former Director SSF; Hareesh H.P., Director SSF; and other senior officials.

The felicitation recognised the Force's role in supporting a major public awareness initiative aimed at building a drug-free Jammu and Kashmir.
