Jammu, October 18, 2026: The Directorate of Tribal Affairs, Jammu and Kashmir, has extended the timeline for online applications and verification of Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarship schemes for Scheduled Tribe (ST) students for the academic year 2026–27.

As per the official notice issued on October 17, 2026, eligible students can submit their scholarship applications through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) until November 10, 2026.

The revised schedule specifies the following deadlines for both scholarship schemes:

- Last date for online applications: November 10, 2026

- Last date for institution-level verification: November 15, 2026

- Last date for State/District-level verification: November 20, 2026

The Pre-Matric Scholarship scheme covers ST students studying in Classes 9 and 10, while the Post-Matric Scholarship scheme is intended for eligible ST students pursuing studies beyond Class 10, subject to the applicable scheme guidelines.

The Directorate has urged students, educational institutions and concerned verification authorities to complete the application and verification processes within the revised deadlines to ensure timely processing of eligible scholarship applications.

The notice was issued by the Directorate of Tribal Affairs, Jammu and Kashmir, under the signature of Director Mohd Mumtaz Ali, JKAS.
