Jammu: A government employee has raised the demand for the implementation of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for all government employees across Jammu and Kashmir, irrespective of their recruitment year.

While sharing his views, the employee questioned why the benefit of the Old Pension Scheme should be restricted to employees whose posts were advertised before 2010, while other employees remain excluded.

He said that all government employees working in Jammu and Kashmir deserve equal pension security and retirement benefits, regardless of their department, cadre or year of recruitment.

The employee urged the Jammu and Kashmir Government to reconsider the existing pension arrangements and extend the benefit of OPS to all government employees.

He maintained that pension security is an important concern for every employee and that all categories of employees should be treated equally in matters of retirement benefits.

"The Old Pension Scheme should be applicable to all government employees of Jammu and Kashmir, not just those whose posts were advertised before 2010," he said.
