SRINAGAR, October 6: Education Minister Sakina Itoo today met a joint delegation of the J&K Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers Association, J&K Teachers Joint Action Committee and Private School Association at Srinagar.
The delegation, led by Sufi Qadri, District President South Kashmir, apprised the Education Minister of various issues concerning teachers’ welfare, service matters and professional concerns.
During the interaction, the delegation particularly raised issues related to the TET resolution along with other matters affecting teachers and the education sector.
Education Minister Sakina Itoo heard the concerns of the delegation patiently and assured continued efforts towards addressing issues related to the welfare of teachers.
The Minister emphasised the important role of teachers in strengthening the education system and stated that the government would continue working together with stakeholders for the welfare of teachers and further improvement of education in Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting provided an opportunity for representatives of different teacher organisations and the Private School Association to place their concerns before the Education Minister and discuss matters related to the teaching community and the education sector.
