Doda, October 5: The Office of the District Development Commissioner (DDC), Doda, has ordered a physical verification of beneficiaries approved under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) following complaints regarding the inclusion of allegedly ineligible beneficiaries and the exclusion of deserving families.

According to an order issued on October 3, 2026, the DDC office stated that complaints were being received on a daily basis regarding the approval of certain ineligible beneficiaries, including Government employees, repeated cases and some employees of the Rural Development Department (RDD), for benefits under the scheme. At the same time, some deserving and eligible beneficiaries were reportedly left out.

The order directs all concerned Block Development Officers (BDOs) to conduct physical verification of eligible beneficiaries Panchayat-wise and ensure that those approved under PMAY-G fulfil the prescribed eligibility criteria.

The BDOs have further been directed to submit a Panchayat-wise verification report regarding eligible beneficiaries to the Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Doda, with a copy to the DDC office, within 10 days from the date of issuance of the order.

The order has been issued by Krishan Lal, JKAS, District Development Commissioner, Doda, with copies forwarded to the Secretary to the Government, RD&PR Department, Director Rural Development Department Jammu, Assistant Commissioner Development Doda and all concerned BDOs for information and compliance.
