SAMBA, SEPTEMBER 19, 2026: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba, Shri Anuj Kumar, IPS, accompanied by Additional SP Samba, DySP Headquarters Samba and DySP SOG Samba, conducted a comprehensive security review of Border Police Posts (BPPs) at Mawa, Babber Nallah and Lalechak.

During the inspection, SSP Samba interacted with personnel deployed at the BPPs and reviewed their preparedness, deployment and functioning under the Border Protection Grid. He stressed the need for a high degree of alertness and vigilance, particularly in view of the strategic importance of the border areas.

The SSP emphasised strengthening coordination and regular interaction with Village Defence Guards (VDGs) and directed personnel to effectively utilise them as force multipliers for strengthening the security grid and improving information flow from border villages.

He also issued directions for constant sentry alertness, regular firing and weapon-handling practice, effective naka checking and intensified night patrolling to deter and detect suspicious activities and prevent untoward incidents.

SSP Samba further directed all ranks to maintain close coordination with other security agencies and ensure prompt sharing of actionable intelligence. He stressed that vigilance, coordination and proactive policing are essential for maintaining a robust Border Protection Grid.

Concluding the visit, SSP Samba directed the personnel to remain fully alert, maintain operational readiness and discharge their duties with dedication and professionalism. He reiterated that the security of border areas remains a priority and that all possible measures must be undertaken to ensure the safety and security of people residing in these areas.
