Samba, September 2, 2026: A review meeting to assess the implementation and progress of the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act, National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) and National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) was held today under the chairpersonship of Deputy Commissioner Samba, Ms. Ayushi Sudan, IAS.

At the outset, Chief Medical Officer Samba, Dr. Vidhi Bhatial, welcomed the Deputy Commissioner, members of the District Advisory Committee and other officers present in the meeting.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner undertook a detailed review of the progress made under the three programmes and assessed the status of various ongoing initiatives in the district. Discussions focused on effective implementation of prescribed guidelines, regular monitoring mechanisms and strengthening coordination among the concerned departments.

While reviewing the PCPNDT programme, the Deputy Commissioner stressed strict compliance with the provisions of the Act and directed the concerned authorities to ensure effective monitoring and enforcement of the guidelines.

Under NQAS, she emphasized the need to strengthen quality standards across healthcare facilities and improve the overall quality of healthcare services being provided to the public.

Reviewing the NTEP, the Deputy Commissioner called for timely identification, diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis cases, besides ensuring effective follow-up and implementation of programme-related activities at the grassroots level.

Ms. Ayushi Sudan directed the concerned officers to work with dedication and adopt a proactive approach towards improving healthcare delivery in the district. She underscored the importance of regular assessment, timely corrective measures and coordinated efforts to achieve the desired outcomes under all three programmes.

The officers concerned briefed the chairperson about the progress, achievements and challenges under their respective programmes. The Deputy Commissioner called upon all stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of the programmes for better health outcomes and improved healthcare services for the people of District Samba.
