Srinagar/Jammu: Jammu & Kashmir Health and Education Minister Sakeena Itoo has said that the transfer policy for Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) teachers has been prepared and is at the finalisation stage.

Addressing the media, the Minister said the process may take around a week, more than a week, or even less time, depending on the remaining formalities.

The statement comes amid continued demand from ReT teachers for a dedicated and transparent transfer mechanism. The School Education Department had earlier issued a draft transfer policy for regularised ReT (RReT), Grade-II and Grade-III teachers for objections and suggestions.

The proposed framework includes provisions relating to tenure, annual transfer drives and teacher deployment. The draft had also proposed a minimum three-year tenure at a place of posting before consideration for transfer, with a maximum ordinary stay of five years.

The Education Minister's latest statement is expected to provide further clarity to ReT teachers awaiting the final policy and its implementation.
