Power Ministry Reviews Public Grievance Redressal System, Stresses Timely and Quality Disposal


New Delhi, September 2, 2026: A review meeting was held today at the Ministry of Power under the chairmanship of Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy, Shri Shripad Y. Naik, to assess progress towards the timely disposal and qualitative redressal of public grievances.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary (Power), senior officers, nominated Review Officers and Grievance Redressal Officers (GROs) from the Ministry of Power, its Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and subordinate offices.

During the meeting, Shri Shripad Y. Naik emphasized the need for greater due diligence and accountability while disposing of public grievances. He stressed that utmost importance should be given to improving the satisfaction level of grievance petitioners and ensuring that their concerns are addressed effectively.

The Minister further called for conducting root cause analysis of repetitive grievances and taking systematic corrective measures to prevent their recurrence. He also highlighted the importance of empathy and a citizen-centric approach among Grievance Redressal Officers while dealing with public complaints.

The meeting provided an opportunity to review the existing grievance redressal mechanism and identify areas requiring further improvement to make the system more responsive and efficient.

The Ministry reiterated its commitment to strengthening a responsive, transparent and citizen-centric public grievance redressal system, with greater focus on timely resolution, accountability and improved public satisfaction.
