Bishkek: Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the 26th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Bishkek, where he reiterated India’s commitment to dialogue and diplomacy as the only way forward for resolving conflicts.

Addressing the summit, Prime Minister Modi stressed the need for zero tolerance towards terrorism, emphasizing that there should be no double standards in the global fight against terrorism. He called for a united and decisive approach against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation among SCO member states in areas including connectivity, technology, innovation, startups and youth engagement. He underlined the potential of these sectors to contribute to economic growth and greater regional cooperation.

During his address, PM Modi also announced India’s readiness to host the first SCO Civilisation Dialogue Forum, aimed at promoting greater understanding and cultural exchanges among SCO member countries.

The Prime Minister’s participation underscored India’s continued engagement with the SCO and its focus on promoting peace, cooperation, connectivity and people-to-people ties across the region.
