Leh, August 31, 2026: The Industries & Commerce Department of the Union Territory of Ladakh has sanctioned the promotion of Shri Abdul Qayoum, presently serving as Warper-cum-Winder/Carder/Miller/Weaving Assistant, to the post of Weaving Master, Level-4 (₹25,500–81,100) in the Handloom Section.

The promotion has been granted against an available vacancy with effect from May 18, 2026, based on the recommendations of the UT Level/Divisional Departmental Promotion Committee, which met on May 18, 2026.

The order was issued by the Industries & Commerce Department, UT of Ladakh, vide Order No. 50-LA (I&C) of 2026, dated August 31, 2026.

The department has clarified that the promotion will remain subject to the outcome of any writ petition, if pending before a competent court of law.
