J&K Government Revises Cancer Treatment Assistance Scheme

Srinagar, September 3, 2026: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has revised the Cancer Treatment & Management Fund for Patients (CTMFP) scheme to enhance financial assistance for eligible cancer patients from economically weaker families.

As per Government Order No. 1456-JK(GAD) of 2026, dated August 31, 2026, the annual income eligibility limit has been revised from ₹20,000 per month to ₹4 lakh per annum.

Under the revised scheme, families with an annual income of up to ₹3 lakh will receive financial assistance of ₹75,000, while families earning above ₹3 lakh and up to ₹4 lakh annually will be eligible for ₹50,000.

The assistance can be sanctioned up to three times, subject to prescribed conditions, including a fresh medical certificate, latest income certificate and confirmation of admissibility under the scheme.

The revised provisions also facilitate Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) of the sanctioned amount directly into the beneficiary’s bank account. The concerned Deputy Commissioner will ensure credit of the assistance within 72 hours of release of funds by the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.

The government said the revised scheme will complement the coverage available under Ayushman Bharat–PMJAY SEHAT and help patients meet expenses related to OPD treatment, diagnostics, medicines and other related costs.
