JAMMU/SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 02: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has accorded sanction to the promotion of 11 Police Inspectors of the General Cadre as Deputy Superintendents of Police (General Cadre), with immediate effect.
The promotion orders were issued by the Home Department under Government Order No. 450-Home of 2026, dated September 2, 2026, following recommendations of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) and necessary clearances from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), J&K.
The officers promoted to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police in Pay Level-8 (₹47,600–₹1,51,100) are:
1. Sheikh Azad
2. Imtiyaz Ahmad
3. Bashir Ahmad
4. Mohd. Amin
5. Mohd. Alyas Malik
6. Sanjeev Kumar
7. Mohd. Farooq
8. Bahar Ahmad
9. Mushtaq Ahmad
10. Mir Riyaz Ahmad
11. Farooq Ahmad
The order stated that the promotions shall remain subject to the outcome of any writ petition(s), if any, pending before any competent Court of Law.
The order was issued by Chandraker Bharti, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Government, Home Department, by order of the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir.
