Jammu, September 22, 2026: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir, General Administration Department (GAD), has extended the validity period of appointment orders issued in favour of eight candidates under the J&K Compassionate Appointment Rules, 1994.

As per Government Order No. 1558-JK(GAD) of 2026, dated September 22, 2026, the validity of the appointment orders has been extended by a further period of 21 days with immediate effect.

The candidates had earlier been allocated to different government departments through appointment orders issued on August 4, 2026.

Among the eight candidates, six were from the School Education Department, while two were from the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj. The candidates have now been allocated to departments including Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs; Public Works (R&B); and other concerned departments.

The order has been issued by order of the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and signed by M. Raju, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, General Administration Department.

The concerned candidates have been directed to join their respective allocated departments within 21 days from the date of issuance of the order.
