Jammu/Srinagar, September 27, 2026: The School Education Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, has sanctioned the delegation of Drawing and Disbursing Officer (DDO) powers to 17 headless institutions/offices across six districts of the Union Territory.

The decision has been issued through Government Order No. 401-JK (Edu) of 2026, dated September 25, 2026, following a reference from the Directorate of School Education, Kashmir.

The delegated DDO powers have been assigned to designated Principals, Headmasters and Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) until regular arrangements are made by the department.

The institutions covered are located in Anantnag, Bandipora, Baramulla, Budgam, Kulgam and Srinagar districts.

As per the order, the delegated DDO powers shall be exercised against the existing DDO Code of the respective institution, and no separate DDO Code shall be created.

The order covers 17 institutions/offices and is aimed at ensuring the smooth handling of financial and administrative responsibilities until regular arrangements are made.
