Jammu, September 25, 2026: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has sanctioned the distribution of six free domestic LPG refills per family per year to eligible Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) households across the Union Territory.

According to Government Order No. 83-JK(FCS&CA) of 2026, dated September 24, 2026, the scheme has been approved pursuant to Council of Ministers Decision No. 123/11/2026 dated September 10, 2026.

The six free LPG refills will be provided to all eligible AAY households, in addition to any other benefits admissible under Government of India schemes.

Eligibility will be verified through the AePDS database of the Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, J&K. The government has also provided for safeguards to prevent duplication and claims by ineligible beneficiaries.

The scheme will remain applicable for a period of four years. Detailed implementation modalities will be issued separately after due vetting and approval by the competent authority.

The order has been issued by the Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Government of Jammu and Kashmir.
