J&K’s First International Film Festival Inaugurated in Srinagar

Srinagar, September 7: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today inaugurated the 1st International Film Festival of Jammu & Kashmir (IFFJK) in Srinagar, marking a new chapter in Jammu & Kashmir’s rich and enduring relationship with cinema.

The inaugural edition brings together filmmakers from more than 30 countries, with over 130 films being showcased during the festival.

Speaking on the occasion, Omar Abdullah said the festival brings the world of cinema to Kashmir and places J&K firmly on the global creative map.

He said IFFJK reflects the government’s vision of making Jammu & Kashmir a vibrant destination for filmmakers, storytellers and creative talent from across the world.

The festival also celebrates J&K’s rich cultural and cinematic heritage while providing a platform for international filmmakers and local creative talent to connect and collaborate.
