J&K Finance Department Orders Transfers and Postings of State Tax and Excise Inspectors


JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 17: The Finance Department of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has ordered transfers and postings of State Tax Inspectors and Excise Inspectors with immediate effect.
The order, issued as Government Order No. 298-FD of 2026 dated September 17, 2026, provides for the transfer and posting of 21 State Tax Inspectors and 5 Excise Inspectors across Jammu and Kashmir.

In the Jammu Division, State Tax Inspectors have been posted to various State Tax Circles and enforcement offices in Jammu, Doda, Kathua, Ramban, Rajouri, Samba, Kishtwar, Poonch and Reasi, among other locations.

In the Kashmir Division, State Tax Inspectors have been posted to Circle-Budgam and Circle-I, Kashmir.

The order also includes postings of three Excise Inspectors in the Jammu Division. Vishal has been posted to the Office of the Deputy Excise Commissioner (Accounts), Jammu; Neel Raj Gupta to the Office of the Excise Commissioner, J&K; and Deepak Sharma to the Office of the Deputy Excise Commissioner (Distilleries), Jammu.

Two Excise Inspectors in the Kashmir Division—Ms. Afshan and Mobashar Altaf—have been transferred from the Pulwama-Shopian sub-range to the Srinagar-Budgam-Ganderbal Excise Range.

The order states that the officials shall be deemed to have been relieved from their present places of posting with immediate effect.

The order has been issued by the Finance Department on behalf of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and signed by Shailendra Kumar, IAS, Financial Commissioner (ACS), Finance Department.
