Jammu/Srinagar, September 30: The Jammu & Kashmir unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged protests across Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday against the National Conference-led government headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

The demonstrations were held in Jammu and Srinagar, with BJP leaders and workers raising concerns over the functioning and policies of the NC-led administration. The protests also came amid the ongoing political debate over the Jammu & Kashmir Assembly's resolution seeking restoration of full statehood.

BJP leaders and workers raised slogans during the demonstrations and criticised the government over issues including electricity tariffs, unemployment and what the party described as unfulfilled election promises.

The protests reflect the continuing political differences between the ruling National Conference and the BJP over governance and the future constitutional and administrative status of Jammu & Kashmir.
