JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 29: Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has introduced a set of Bills in the Legislative Assembly proposing an increase in the salaries and allowances of the Chief Minister, Ministers and Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), along with an enhancement in the pension of former legislators.
According to the report, the proposed changes would revise the monthly salary of the Chief Minister from ₹70,000 to ₹95,000, an increase of ₹25,000. The salary of a Minister is proposed to rise from ₹65,000 to ₹85,000, representing an increase of ₹20,000 per month.
MLA salary and allowances
A separate Bill proposes changes in the salary and allowances of MLAs. The MLA salary is proposed to increase from ₹60,000 to ₹80,000 per month.
The constituency allowance is proposed to rise from ₹60,000 to ₹70,000, while the medical allowance would increase from ₹10,000 to ₹15,000.
Together, these three components would result in a proposed increase of ₹35,000 per month in the MLA salary and allowances covered by the Bill.
Pension of former legislators
Another Bill proposes increasing the monthly pension of former legislators from ₹50,000 to ₹60,000.
The proposal also seeks to expand the definition of family for the purpose of family pension by including widowed and divorced daughters of former legislators.

The GST-related legislation proposes changes intended to bring provisions in line with the Central GST framework and address issues relating to post-supply discounts, input-tax-credit adjustments and refunds.
