Lumut, Malaysia: Indian Navy warship INS Mysore arrived at Lumut, Malaysia, as part of the Indian Navy’s operational deployment to participate in the 4th edition of the bilateral maritime exercise ‘Samudra Laksamana’ with the Royal Malaysian Navy.

The ship and its crew received a warm welcome from personnel of the Royal Malaysian Navy and officials from the High Commission of India in Malaysia, reflecting the close and growing maritime ties between the two countries.

The bilateral exercise includes a range of professional engagements both in harbour and at sea. These activities include cross-deck visits, operational interactions and sporting engagements, providing personnel from both navies with opportunities to interact and share their professional experiences.

The exercise is aimed at enhancing interoperability and operational cooperation between the Indian Navy and the Royal Malaysian Navy. It will also facilitate the exchange of knowledge and best practices among personnel of the two maritime forces.

Beyond operational cooperation, Samudra Laksamana is expected to strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between the two navies. Regular bilateral maritime engagements such as this contribute to greater coordination and cooperation in the maritime domain.

The participation of INS Mysore in the exercise further underlines India’s commitment to strengthening defence and maritime partnerships with friendly countries and promoting cooperation for a secure, stable and collaborative maritime environment in the region.
