Dr Jitendra Singh Launches Web Portal for Special Swachhata Campaign 6.0

New Delhi, September 16, 2026: Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Dr Jitendra Singh, launched the web portal for Special Swachhata Campaign 6.0, calling Swachhata an evolving whole-of-government and whole-of-nation movement.

According to the Press Information Bureau, the Swachhata campaign, which began in 2021, has expanded beyond a cleanliness initiative to focus on institutional cleanliness, efficient disposal of waste and reduction of pending matters in government offices.

Dr Jitendra Singh said Special Campaign 6.0 would place greater emphasis on scientific waste management, e-waste disposal and reduction of pendency.

The campaign will involve government departments and organisations across the country, with efforts aimed at improving cleanliness, streamlining government processes and promoting responsible waste disposal.

The government has also highlighted the financial gains from earlier campaigns, with scrap disposal generating around ₹5,000 crore, according to the statement issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.

Special Campaign 6.0 is scheduled to focus on Swachhata and minimising pendency, with several ministries preparing to participate in the nationwide initiative.
