Kyiv: At least five people were killed and 23 others injured after Russia launched a large-scale missile and drone attack on Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, overnight on Thursday, Ukrainian authorities said.
The attack began shortly after midnight, with explosions reported across several parts of the city. Residential buildings and civilian infrastructure, including a children’s hospital and a school, were damaged in the strikes.
Emergency crews were deployed to affected areas as authorities assessed the damage and continued rescue and recovery operations.
The latest attack comes amid continued Russian and Ukrainian strikes as the war enters another phase of heightened aerial attacks.
