Anantnag, August 28: Raksha Bandhan was celebrated with warmth and traditional fervour at the Prachin Shiv Temple in Thajiwara, Bijbehara, where local women tied rakhis to Deputy Commissioner Anantnag and other officers as a gesture of goodwill and respect.

The women extended their greetings to the officials on the auspicious occasion and tied sacred threads on their wrists, symbolising the spirit of protection, trust and brotherhood associated with Raksha Bandhan.

Deputy Commissioner Anantnag conveyed his warm wishes to the people on the occasion and expressed hope that the festival would strengthen the bonds of harmony, peace and mutual respect in society.

During his visit to the temple, the Deputy Commissioner also emphasised the importance of ensuring the convenience and comfort of devotees visiting the shrine. He stressed that all necessary arrangements should be made so that devotees are able to offer prayers and participate in the festivities in a peaceful and hassle-free manner.
