Qazibagh, Ichgam Sites for Development of Playfields

DC Budgam Athar Aamir Khan Inspects 
Budgam, August 22, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Budgam Athar Aamir Khan today visited Qazibagh and Ichgam to identify and survey suitable land for the development of playfields and sports infrastructure for local youth and sports enthusiasts.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected various potential sites and assessed the availability and suitability of land for establishing playfields in both areas. He directed the concerned officers to conduct the necessary surveys and complete all requisite formalities to take forward the development of sports infrastructure.

The Deputy Commissioner also interacted with local youth delegations and sports enthusiasts, who apprised him of their demands for better sports facilities, including approach roads, boundary walls and other essential infrastructure.

Urging the younger generation to actively participate in sports, Athar Aamir Khan said sports play an important role in channelising the energy and potential of youth in a positive direction. He said the District Administration is committed to creating better sporting infrastructure and providing adequate facilities to help young people participate and excel in various sports.

He further stated that the development of playfields and sports infrastructure remains a priority of the District Administration, with focused efforts being undertaken to provide youth with appropriate platforms to showcase their talent and promote a vibrant sports culture.

“We want our youth to have safe, accessible and well-equipped spaces where they can pursue and nurture their sporting talent,” the Deputy Commissioner said, adding that the administration would continue working in coordination with concerned departments and local communities to improve sports facilities at the grassroots level.

The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by officers from the Roads & Buildings Department, Youth Services & Sports Department, Revenue Department and other concerned departments.
