Jammu, August 22, 2026: The Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns in several areas of Jammu to facilitate maintenance and improvement works on 11kV feeders.

According to the office of the Superintending Engineer, O&M Circle, Jammu, the shutdowns have been approved on the recommendation of the Executive Engineer, Electric Division-I, JPDCL.

The affected areas include Shakti Nagar, Rehari, Old Rehari, Nandore, Nagrota, Bajalta, Kachi Chawni and adjoining areas.

The scheduled works include 11kV reconductoring, DTR replacement and augmentation, LT AB cable work, composite line work and bifurcation. The shutdown timings will generally fall between 7:00 AM and 12:00 noon, with some feeders scheduled for shorter periods.

The shutdown schedule covers August 24, August 30 and September 1/3, 2026, depending on the feeder concerned.

JPDCL has advised that the shutdown will be subject to fair weather conditions and strict adherence to standard operating procedures before, during and after execution of the works.

The department has requested that the power shutdown schedule be published for the information of the general public.
