Jammu, August 21, 2026: The Directorate of Rural Development Department (RDD), Jammu, has assigned the look-after charge of Block Development Officer (BDO) posts to 10 Panchayat Inspectors on a purely temporary and interim basis.

The order, issued vide Order No. 421-DRDJ of 2026 dated August 21, 2026, follows approval conveyed by the Administrative Department through its communication dated August 20, 2026.

As per the order, the following Panchayat Inspectors have been assigned the look-after charge of BDOs:

1. Rajesh Kumar-III – Block Thuroo, District Reasi

2. Varinder Kumar – Block Bhoond, District Kathua

3. Gulnaz Begum – BDO (HQ), Office of ACD Poonch

4. Gulkhaiz Akhter – Block Mankote, District Poonch

5. Shayada Parveen – BDO (HQ), Office of ACP Rajouri

6. Sonika Anand – BDO (HQ), Office of ACP Udhampur

7. Ram Kishore Sharma – Block Mandli, District Kathua

8. Ashok Kumar – BDO (HQ), Office of ACP Kathua

9. Kewal Krishan – Block Duggain, District Kathua

10. Arun Kumar – Block Gandhri, District Ramban

The Rural Development Department clarified that the arrangement is purely interim and temporary, with the officials continuing in their own pay and grade until the posts are filled on a substantive basis in accordance with the applicable rules.

The assignments will also remain subject to the outcome of any pending Original Applications or writ petitions before the competent court of law.

Copies of the order have been forwarded to the concerned administrative authorities, Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners Development and Block Development Officers for information and necessary action.
