Poonch, August 18, 2026: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and JKPDP President Mehbooba Mufti visited several areas affected by the recent flash floods and met families who suffered significant losses, including the loss of human lives, crops and livestock.
During her visit, Mehbooba Mufti toured Dhok Thanamandi, Sub Centre Behrot, Atti, Mahrah, Dhara Sangla and Loran Sultan Pathri, where she interacted with affected residents and listened to their concerns.
She expressed solidarity with families who have lost their loved ones and livelihoods in the devastating floods. She also called for immediate relief, rehabilitation and adequate compensation for those affected.
Mehbooba Mufti stressed the need for timely government intervention to help affected families rebuild their lives and restore their sources of livelihood.
She was accompanied by former Minister Abdul Haq Khan, former legislators Advocate M.R. Qureshi and Advocate Qamar Hussain Choudhary, District Presidents Anjum Mirza and Shamim Ganai, along with senior party leaders and workers.
The PDP leaders urged the authorities to assess the damage on the ground and ensure that relief reaches all affected families without delay.
