Katra: Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, chaired the 37th meeting of the Executive Council of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) at the university campus in Katra.
The meeting reviewed several important academic, administrative and developmental matters concerning the university. The Executive Council discussed measures aimed at further strengthening the university’s academic standards, research ecosystem and institutional infrastructure.
During the meeting, the Lieutenant Governor emphasised the need to promote quality education, innovation, research and industry-academia collaboration to enhance the university’s contribution to the development of Jammu and Kashmir.
He also stressed the importance of creating greater opportunities for students and researchers, encouraging emerging technologies and ensuring that the university continues to evolve in line with national and global educational standards.
The Executive Council also considered various agenda items related to the functioning and future growth of the university and took decisions on matters placed before it.
The meeting was attended by senior university officials, members of the Executive Council and other concerned stakeholders.
The Lieutenant Governor reiterated the administration’s commitment to supporting institutions of higher learning and fostering an environment that encourages academic excellence, innovation, entrepreneurship and research in Jammu and Kashmir.
