Samba: The J&K United School Teachers Association, Samba Unit, has demanded that pension benefits be extended to teachers appointed under the Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) scheme before 2010.
The association also called for employees currently serving under the New Pension Scheme (NPS) to be brought under the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), stating that a secure pension system is essential for the welfare and financial security of employees after retirement.
The Samba Unit said that teachers and other employees have dedicated many years to serving the education sector and society. It urged the concerned authorities to consider their demands sympathetically and take appropriate policy measures to ensure that employees receive adequate pensionary benefits after retirement.
The association emphasized that a reliable pension system would provide financial security and dignity to employees during their post-retirement years. It appealed to the government to take positive steps towards extending pension benefits to eligible pre-2010 ReT teachers and bringing NPS employees under the Old Pension Scheme.
