Jammu, March 1, 2019: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir, through the Higher Education Department, has accorded sanction for the establishment of 10 new Government Degree Colleges at different locations across Jammu and Kashmir.

The decision was issued under Government Order No. 106-HE of 2019 dated March 1, 2019, in reference to State Administrative Council Decision No. 79/7/2019 dated February 28, 2019.

The sanctioned locations are:

• Bonyar — Baramulla

• Ghagwal — Samba

• Jourian — Jammu

• Mongri-Panchari at Kainth Gali — Udhampur

• Tulail — Bandipora

• Kralpora — Kupwara

• Women College, Bhagwati Nagar — Jammu

• Darhal — Rajouri

• Kastigarh — Doda

• Soibugh — Budgam

According to the order, the new Government Degree Colleges were to be established during the 2019–20 to 2021 period.

The order was issued by the Higher Education Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, with copies circulated to senior government officials, the University Grants Commission (UGC), Director Colleges and other concerned authorities.
