Srinagar, August 20, 2026: The Jammu and Kashmir Government, through the General Administration Department (GAD), has ordered the placement of two Assistant Section Officers of the J&K Secretariat (Subordinate) Service as In-Charge Section Officers on an officiating basis.

As per Government Order No. 1417-JK(GAD) of 2026, dated August 19, 2026, sanction has been accorded for the placement of Ms. Nahida Jan and Mr. Inder Singh as In-Charge Section Officers in their own pay and grade, with charge allowance admissible under rules.

The arrangement will remain in force for a period of six months or until the posts are filled on a regular basis, on the recommendations of the Departmental Promotion Committee, whichever is earlier.

The General Administration Department clarified that the arrangement is temporary and will not confer any preferential right on the officials to hold the posts on a substantive basis or claim promotion. Their placement will also remain subject to the outcome of any writ petitions pending before the competent courts.

The order further states that both officials will continue to work at their present places of posting until further orders.

The order has been issued by the General Administration Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, on the directions of the Government.
